stream5: COCKPIT 1.5 sets the standard in the world of online video

Munich company updates its “Video-Machine” with a new video management system, new statistics, and a new video player

München, 18.11.2009 - stream5, one of the leading providers of online video technology in Europe, has made its innovative engineering even more user-friendly. The relaunch of the award-winning video management system was carried out with the user and his needs in mind. With the COCKPIT 1.5, stream5's highly complex technology becomes easy to use, even for beginners — and offers the extensive functionality and efficiency required by seasoned professionals. It also offers a flexible navigation and menu structure, as well as an attractive design, and a high degree of functionality. stream5's intrinsic values are correct in any case: the sophisticated and highly complex engineering behind the COCKPIT has been nominated for the IPTV 2009 award, in the category of "most innovative technology".

The new COCKPIT 1.5 from stream5 makes it easy for businesses to make live online videos available on their website, quickly and simply. Simple and intuitive user guidance makes it easy to get started quickly. For instance, videos are automatically encoded into the correct formats in the COCKPIT; the flexible menu structure allows professionals to shorten navigational steps, or to skip over them entirely. The i5 navigation consists of four areas, the so-called wings, which open according to the function which has been selected, and only display the functions which the user would like to see and use at that moment. The navigation is carried out using the i5 button, or by double-clicking on a list field.

An extensive set of statistics shows the click behaviour of users, directly in the COCKPIT: Which videos did the user watch? When did the user stop the video stream? How much traffic did a channel or a clip generate within a user-defined space of time? Which videos were viewed most frequently, which were never viewed? In the near future, it will be possible to control and administer video content destined for mobile end-user devices using the current version of the COCKPIT.

Christoph Hölzlwimmer, stream5's CEO explains: "stream5 always has its finger on the pulse. Our technology is one of the market leaders. We develop online video products, which embody the world of online video in a fascinating way, which are both easy to use, and offer every customer a tailored solution, thus promoting individual creativity. Our new COCKPIT 1.5 is the best example of this: it is innovative, intelligent, and professionally constructed, and offers maximum usability for all users."
